Friday Favorite Five..............

Our school participated in Plant the Promise for red ribbon week- Just say no to drugs.
Here is some more info on the program if you would like to promote it for your school.
All three of the kids got to go plant their own red tulip bulb. We went up and took pictures while the markers are still in the ground with their names on it. Not only do I think this is wonderful that the kids are learning about this and making the promise to be drug free. I also find it so significant because I will have all 3 of my kids in this school for the next two years before Alissa goes to middle school. I have said it before- and I will say it again.... I LOVE OUR SCHOOL!
I can not wait until spring when the tulips bloom. Every time I drive by the school I will see not only the 800+ flowers planted- but more specifically the three SPECIAL ones that my children put in the ground.............

Alissa's..............
Jacob's............

A good view of all the bulbs. They were planted right in front of the school- under the principals office window.

My Friday Favorite Five:

1) Ready Whip -- Bob sprayed some in the kids' mouths yesterday at dinner before their pie, and Alex nearly fell off the chair crying so hard because he was LAUGHING so hard! It was too funny! Gotta love Ready Whip!
2) Pumpkin pie -- 2 pieces in one day. sigh... I love pumpkin pie!
3) Once again, the internet. I can do my "black Friday" shopping online and avoid the crazy's out there!
4) My husband (again). I was such a crank this Thanksgiving. I didn't want to celebrate because we had no family out to visit this year. I didn't want to cook, because the kids won't eat anything. And I didn't want to break out the china, because I just have to hand wash it all. However, my husband reminded me that it's all about traditions and what the kids will remember when they grow up. Yes, they may not eat the food, yes hand washing is a pain. But when we're old and grey, we want our children telling our grandchildren about the time "grandpa" sprayed "Ready Whip" in their mouths at Thanksgiving.
5) Traditions. I do LOVE Traditions. I love doing the same thing every year, putting up the same decorations, having the same food, watching the same holiday movies. I am a BIG traditions girl. That's why I'm so thankful Bob kept me moving through the day yesterday. I would've kicked myself had we not had the traditions of Thanksgiving -- hand washing and all!

Thanks Eve! Oh, My #6 favorite, is YOU of course! Thanks for being my BFF!!!

Hi Eve! I love your five and those tulips are great. What an awesome sight it will be when all those tulips bloom. I'm going to post my 5 in a few minutes(camera batteries are charging). I totally forgot it was Friday--duh! My husband has been off for 2days so my brain thought it was Sunday.

Why do I blog?

I have never been one to keep a journal. I have never been able to write in a diary for more than a week! I have countless scrapbooks that still need to be journaled. I do this in hopes of becoming a better journalist. I do this to document everyday life. I do this so I don't have to scrapbook EVERY picture! I do this for me, our friends and family, & mostly the kids. One day they will have it all - because I took the time to document all the little things that REALLY do matter. Everyday life....all the little moments you & I can't remember because the memories are long gone.......
