Friday Favorite Five..............

Our school participated in Plant the Promise for red ribbon week- Just say no to drugs.
Here is some more info on the program if you would like to promote it for your school.
All three of the kids got to go plant their own red tulip bulb. We went up and took pictures while the markers are still in the ground with their names on it. Not only do I think this is wonderful that the kids are learning about this and making the promise to be drug free. I also find it so significant because I will have all 3 of my kids in this school for the next two years before Alissa goes to middle school. I have said it before- and I will say it again.... I LOVE OUR SCHOOL!
I can not wait until spring when the tulips bloom. Every time I drive by the school I will see not only the 800+ flowers planted- but more specifically the three SPECIAL ones that my children put in the ground.............

Alissa's..............
Jacob's............
Logan's..............
A good view of all the bulbs. They were planted right in front of the school- under the principals office window.
Jacob's site words................cut............with magnets added..................

Starlight?????????

Okay- this is TOO funny NOT to post..........
From MSN~

BELLA: So did you do the chemistry homework?
EDWARD: Like, 100 years ago.
BELLA: No, seriously. Quit making jokes about our age difference. I have to do my homework before I go home and cook my dad his dinner.
EDWARD: You are a magnificent flower and the sweet cherry atop my life's sundae. Marry me and your life will be distilled bliss, for I do not eat food that requires cooking, and I am rich enough that your chemistry grade matters not a whit.
BELLA: Um, let's not talk about what you eat.
EDWARD: Your wish is my command, fragrant blossom.
BELLA: I just don't understand how you can say that. I'm just a plain, awkward girl who needs to strap herself to the commode so she doesn't fall off. Accident-prone is my middle name.
EDWARD: I will sneak into your bathroom and offer my steady, marble-like arms as your supports. No harm shall come to you, my pet.
BELLA: OK, but you have to be really quiet about it and stuff, because my dad is, like, the police chief and even though he can't cook his own dinner, he will totally OWN your undead badonkadonk if he catches you.
EDWARD: (laughs) Did you just see that? I sprinted to the end of these mossy rocks and back in less time than it took you to say badonkadonk.
BELLA: Kiss me unchastely, you sexy beast.
EDWARD: Let's do your chemistry first, and then we shall go for a ride in my Volvo.
BELLA: See? I am ugly. My vampire boyfriend doesn't even want to neck.

The funniest part of this is my friend Tami sent me an email saying that there should be a spoof book and movie called Starlight!

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #9................

When you can live forever.......................

Well- you know who I picked this week, right? It was not that hard to pick for me!
And hopefully everyone has seen the movie by now............
What did you all think???

This is a fun little Twilight book I put together for a certain someone! I think they will have it by the time this posts!

Of course it had to have Edward's picture on the front! This is a fun stamp that I have. It says MINE MINE MINE MINE all around the outside. On the inside (I covered it up on this one) it says "So give it back."

Okay I guess I am back to TWO projects. You know I have SOOO much time on my hands...................
So here is my other one...............................

Of course I could not get a shot that looks how it really looks in person. I painted pearl-ex onto a black card stock with floor polish. If you have never tried this- give it a try. It is a lot of fun- the effects it produces are amazing!

Make sure you check out what the rest of the design team did:

Tonya

And remember if you want to play along with us- here is the link.

In case you missed it....here is my take on the movie. Also make sure you read all the descriptive comments from everyone with their thoughts!

****I hope that those of you that have been watching this challenge consider playing along with us for New Moon. Even if you don't do EVERY week- play when you can! I would love to see YOUR Twilight projects!!!!!!!!!!!!

Little Something..............

My hubby has been promising the kids teachers some of our homemade chap stick. It is all natural. The flavor is essential orange. Very subtle. So I made these little gift bags up for them! I used the adorable stamp that Tracy sent me! It was perfect! Make sure you go and check out her adorable blog! HERE................

I like to add a little color to mine. Just a tint of copper.

Twilight Movie....................

*****EDIT******
I have been waiting to post what I REALLY thought of the movie. I wanted to make sure I thought about it first. I am glad I waited. If I would have posted right after I went to see it- this is what I would have said..........(Plus I know some of you did not see it until later- so did not want to ruin it for you. Don't read ANY further if you have not seen it yet!)

It was a little bit cheesy.

However- since I saw the movie, it is all I have been thinking about! There were a few things in the movie that drove me nuts.....................

~Every time the was a DIRECT quote from the book the boppers would get a little out of hand.

~The boppers seemed to giggle in strange moments. Moments that seemed significant to them- but had no real significance. Does that make sense?

~I felt there was a lot of googly love eyes between Bella and Edward. I would have LOVED to hear him "hearing" everyone talking. And I think they could have put more of the book into it if we could have had Bella narrating in her head through the whole book.

~The fact that Jasper said like TWO words through the whole movie. Emmett 5 . Although I did LOVE how he rode on the top of every vehicle! I REALLY wished they could have gotten into EVERYONE'S direct personality so much more. I feel someone going who had not read the books- would not know anything about anyone- except for Bella and Edward.

~My BFF Debby made mention that Jasper reminded her of Edward Scissor hands . Good call Deb!

~There were times when Edward was speaking - that he looked like he was really struggling. His attempt at not having an English accent came through quite a few times.

~Still did not like Bella..........sorry.

~So many of the scenes seemed really low budget.

~Edwards sparkle just made him look wet and sweaty- not that- that was a bad thing...........

~I spent most of the movie tearing it apart- comparing it to the book. (Shame on me I know. I just could not help myself!)

As much as I am tearing it apart- I did like it. I liked it a lot. Right after I knew that I would need to go see it again. Here is what I LOVED about the movie...................

~Baseball scene. The music synchronized perfect. Rosalie playing was awesome. You can just see what a B@#*% she is! Alice throwing up her leg. Edward and Emmett going for the balls! I will never NOT think of that now when I hear thunder & lightning.

~Loved Charlie. It so came through what a lonely good guy he is. Although how some one that cute stays alone for that long???? I wish they would have gotten into Bella cooking for him every night - instead of going to the diner. It showed in the book how she took care of him. I felt that was a very significant part.

~Jacob. I liked him a lot better in the movie than I did in real life. Although his VAMPIRE teeth kinda contradicted his standpoint.

~Alice. Perfect! Although again- not enough to show what type of person she is- and the friend ship that Bella and her have.

~Jacob's dad- very good job.

~3 bad vamps- perfect casting!

~Carlise and Esme- Perfect!

Okay- I know I will think of more as it comes to me.

Bookmarks I got for Deb and I before the movie...............................

So I am dying to hear what everyone thinks of the movie.............
I want to hear what you all have to say....................
And the fact that there WILL be a sequel for New Moon.

Friday Favorite Five..............

That we live in a court..............
That my neighbors have very large mature trees that they hang fun things like rope ladders, swings, and tire swings from for the kids to play on...............
That the sun still SHINES in November in California..........................
That soon- (okay not really but I have to tell myself that) LOST will be back on.............

My love of music.................

I think this is probably one of the most beautiful instrumentals ever written.
Click here to listen to it. LOST fans will recognize it. You can just HEAR the feelings in this song.

Why do I blog?

I have never been one to keep a journal. I have never been able to write in a diary for more than a week! I have countless scrapbooks that still need to be journaled. I do this in hopes of becoming a better journalist. I do this to document everyday life. I do this so I don't have to scrapbook EVERY picture! I do this for me, our friends and family, & mostly the kids. One day they will have it all - because I took the time to document all the little things that REALLY do matter. Everyday life....all the little moments you & I can't remember because the memories are long gone.......
