Layout....

Another fun kit of the week from Green Tangerines!
I did change the title from the original title of "Summer Fun". I just HAD to use it for these pictures- the colors were too perfect!
For those of you that are from out of the area....GT will soon be up and running with a online store! 10,000 square feet baby!
Enjoy the holiday weekend!

My New Adhesive......

I have always used this Ad-Tech adhesive and LOVE it! Not only does it work great- but it is super reasonable! $3. something for the tape runner with one refill in it, and then $2.27 for the two pack of refills. I have always used the glue-tape by this company. However the last time I went to pick up some refills I saw this and of course had to try it!
LOVE it......
BTW- I get mine at Wal-Mart in the scrapbook isle.

So-Easy Ice Cream Cake......

3

Oreo & Fudge Ice Cream Cake
Prep: 10 minutes
Freezing time: 4 hours

1/2 cup fudge ice cream topping, warmed
1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip Topping, thawed, divided
1 pkg. (4 serving size) Jell-O Chocolate flavor instant pudding
8 Oreo Chocolate sandwich cookies
12 vanilla ice cream sandwiches

1.Pour the fudge topping into a medium bowl. Stir in 1 cup of the whipped topping with a wire wisk until it's well blended. Add in the dry pudding mix: stir 2 minutes or until well blended. The consistency of the fudge topping can vary depending on what brand you use. If your fudge topping mixture is too thick to spread easily, stir in 1/4 cup milk.

2. Put the Oreo cookies into a ziploc bag. Break up roughly into chunks. Stir into pudding mix.

3. Arrange 4 of the ice cream sandwiches, side by side, on a 24x12-inch piece of foil; top with half of the pudding mixture. Repeat the layers.

4. Top the pudding mixture with the remaining 4 ice cream sandwiches. The layers create a neat striped effect when sliced.

5. Frost the top and sides with the remaining whipped topping. It does not have to look perfect!

6. Bring up the foil sides. Double fold top and ends to loosely seal the packet. Freeze at least 4 hours before serving. Let stand at room temperature to soften slightly before serving. Store leftover dessert in the freezer.

Makes 12 servings.

Super Star.....

Logan was the first super star for his class! I asked him if he was excited- and he replied:
"I am always the FIRST super star in my class. The last three years I have been the first one." Not sure if that means anything- of course I think it means he is a GREAT kid! Regardless Logan is always my super star! He got to read a book to the class- "There's a wocket in my pocket". And he brought sharing in today. His Pokemon trading cards in his binder, his little ceramic lion, and his baseball trophy! It is always SO special when it is all about YOU Logan! Oh by the way- if you click on the picture of Logan and read what he wrote on what he wants to be when he grows up......yep - a cashier at Walmart! (And a Dad) Too cute!

Twilight Layout......

I have been dying to do this layout. Normally I scrap in date order. However I felt the need to get this one done! Currently I am @ 9 months behind. However I still have some projects that I need to go back and complete. So I am not as caught up as it sounds! Plus I do a ongoing family album, sports albums for all the kids, school albums for each kid, and a Girl Scout album for Alissa. So many layouts that I have to do several of so everyone gets one! So this is a FUN layout for just me! Something that I will be able to look back at and laugh I am sure! Something Alissa - years from now when she reads the series will enjoy.
I had the thought of this layout in my head for a few weeks- so I was finally able to get it together and get it done! You can click on the layout or any of the pictures if you want to read the journaling or see things closer. I used my blog entry for that day as my journaling! I also used a fun Halloween paper that was dark with trees and a full moon. I cut a slit in the layout to add the program from Barnes and Noble - discretely and sanded all the photos.
Enjoy..........

It's Okay To Put Flowers...............

On a boy's layout! This is more beautiful paper from the My Little Yellow Bicycle line. Here
Vellum is circle cut- then paper pierced around the edge. Also adhered with pop-dots.

This was a cute paper kit that Deb gave me by Pebbles Inc. I added the Bazill flowers that I stitched around on the machine. The HUGE turtle is cut out by hand- with pop dots added.

I love the look of flowers. It is natural for me to want to put them on every page I create. I also have lots of friends that just have boys that scrapbook. So this is a reminder & a few examples of what I mean. Cut out a non- girlie flower and add stickles to it. Green or blue looks good. Stitch around a cut out flower. Either with machine or by hand. Use coordinating thread. Add it to your next BOY layout. It will look great- trust me!

Why do I blog?

I have never been one to keep a journal. I have never been able to write in a diary for more than a week! I have countless scrapbooks that still need to be journaled. I do this in hopes of becoming a better journalist. I do this to document everyday life. I do this so I don't have to scrapbook EVERY picture! I do this for me, our friends and family, & mostly the kids. One day they will have it all - because I took the time to document all the little things that REALLY do matter. Everyday life....all the little moments you & I can't remember because the memories are long gone.......
