Happy 4th Of July!

Here we are before our neighborhood parade!
It is the 9th annual 4th of July parade. Like all competition's we take this VERY seriously! I made these shirts for all of us to wear. The goofy sunglasses I found at JoAnn's.

Here are the back of the shirts: "Daddy Firecracker", "Mommy Firecracker", "Alissa Sparkler", "Logan Sparkler", and "Jacob Sparkler". This is a family tradition from the Fowler side. Rob's Dad was born on the 4th of July and they always called the kids the little sparklers.

I love this shot of the boys!

Here we are before the parade - right before the judging! Thanks Ben for taking the picture for us!

WE WON! 1st place!!!!!! For best Family costumes! We have won 1st place for the last three years! Ugghhh I will have to start planning NOW for next year!!!
We won a $25.00 gift card to the movies!
Thank you to Rick and Rhonda for putting this on every year and the awesome prize!
We stayed for the fun activities which included, cake walk, seed spitting contest, egg race, snow-cones, and Starbucks raffle!
What a fun time. The kids will always remember being part of such a close community that comes together for this special day! How are you spending your 4th? Did anyone else have a parade in their neighborhood?

Great pix!!! Looks like you guys had a blast -- loved the costumes! We didn't have a parade, but had a great neighborhood block party. We had 2 guitar hero's set up in two different garages. We played on the big projection screens. Very fun! I think I'll have to incorporate some of your fun activities next year at our party!

Why do I blog?

I have never been one to keep a journal. I have never been able to write in a diary for more than a week! I have countless scrapbooks that still need to be journaled. I do this in hopes of becoming a better journalist. I do this to document everyday life. I do this so I don't have to scrapbook EVERY picture! I do this for me, our friends and family, & mostly the kids. One day they will have it all - because I took the time to document all the little things that REALLY do matter. Everyday life....all the little moments you & I can't remember because the memories are long gone.......
