Reuse........

I get a lot of handmade or those beautiful embellished store bought cards from friends. I wanted to show you a way to reuse those- so they don't have to go to waste. I like to use a quality fun card as a base. These American Craft cards work great! I don't like to throw anything away- that I think I may use for scrapbooking or cardmaking. Cards that I get (after they are displayed on the mantel for a few weeks) I take the front of the card off and do this:
This is a card for a baby- using Making Memories metal charms....
This card front was from Lisa. I added the red ribbon from Lesley's Christmas card, and yellow flowers from Monica's card. The red gems are from Anne's Christmas trees.
Another card front from Lisa, added ribbon.........
Another from Lisa, added ribbon.........
Card front from Colleen, charm from Denise, and ribbon from Baby Gap bag..........

Another card front from Lisa- added ribbon..........
Bag of tea, quote, and ribbon........
This was a really bulky element for scrapbooking that I never used. Making Memories rub on.
Christmas card front from Tiff...........

Seriously, Martha! If you don't accept that GT design position, I may have to hurt you! You are so talented! I save cards and reuse, but I would never think to save the ribbon off of a baby gap gift bag! Or, the gems from a Christmas tree off of a card! You are truly amazing!!! I can't wait to receive one of these cards! :-)

Why do I blog?

I have never been one to keep a journal. I have never been able to write in a diary for more than a week! I have countless scrapbooks that still need to be journaled. I do this in hopes of becoming a better journalist. I do this to document everyday life. I do this so I don't have to scrapbook EVERY picture! I do this for me, our friends and family, & mostly the kids. One day they will have it all - because I took the time to document all the little things that REALLY do matter. Everyday life....all the little moments you & I can't remember because the memories are long gone.......
