Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #6..........

It is Tuesday! Yeah..................... Can you guess what the theme is this week????

RAIN
Here is my take on it:

The top sheet is clear contact paper. I folded a 6x12 piece in half sticking the two sticky sides together. I will admit it took a few tries to get it right! It is a clear laminate that is actually a Creating Keepsakes approved product! I got it at Walmart in the contact paper isle.
I attached the Little Yellow Bicycle jewel brads (I cut the backs off) with glue dots.
Lifting up the clear sheet......................

And because one project just does not seem to cut it for me anymore....here is another card I came up with.............

I really like this velvet scalloped ribbon I added to the bottom!
And this is a close up of the pin art I did on the stamped image...................

Make sure you check out what the rest of the design team did:

And remember if you want to play along with us- here is the link.

I have loaned out ALL 4 of my books- so I am unable to look up any quotes this week!
However, I did find some that pertain to rain. Personally I think that RAIN gets a bad rap. I like the rain myself. And California rain is pretty mild. So until you have lived in Washington (I have) don't complain about the rain!

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby. ~Langston Hughes

The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain. ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Many a man curses the rain that falls upon his head, and knows not that it brings abundance to drive away the hunger. ~Saint Basil

A rainy day is the perfect time for a walk in the woods. ~Rachel Carson

Tell me how many beads there are
In a silver chain
Of evening rain,
Unravelled from the tumbling main...
~Thomas Lovell Beddoes

Rain showers my spirit
and waters my soul.
~Emily Logan Decens

The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain. This is the kind the anonymous medieval poet makes me remember, the rain that falls on a day when you'd just as soon stay in bed a little longer, write letters or read a good book by the fire, take early tea with hot scones and jam and look out the streaked window with complacency. ~Susan Allen Toth, England For All Seasons

Crockpot Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe.............

Okay I just HAD to share this! I am not sure if you have heard of this blog or not......
A Year Of Crockpotting
My friend Lisa sent it to me. (I talk about her a lot huh?) Here is a picture to remind you what she looks like:

Cute isn't she?
She sent me this link to this blog! I just LOVE it! I also LOVE my crockpot. Anyhoo- I have been trying lots of these recipes. I tried these pumpkin spice lattes and had to share. Yum! Click here
if you would like to give them a try. I used the picture from the gal's web page of her latte- since like a dork I forgot to snap a picture.
Bless this lady's heart- she has been posting a recipe all year long! She adds pictures of all the ingredients like this one below for the lattes.

Then she also lists the ingredients, directions, and the verdict. The best part is she says what her and her husband thought - and get this.....her KIDS! LOVE that!
So take a minute and go check it out. Also take a minute to tell LISA that is about time she got a BLOG!

Card Swap...................

******EDIT********

Looks like we have 3 people who are interested. I am looking for 4 more...........

Are you one of those 4?????

Leave a message here or email me if you are interested!

So as I was going through my cards looking to see what I have, and what I don't have, and what I need to make...............
Anniversary
Adult Bday (feminine and masculine)
Get Well
Kids Bday
Sympathy
I was thinking....... about a card swap.
Say 8 people- so you only have to make 8 cards. And you would get to keep one of your own. I would not require an extra one as the host- since I would be participating.
Maybe even make it a monthly thing......
Anybody interested?????

Conversation With A 5 Year Old...................

Jacob was looking out the kitchen window this morning. He turned back to look at me.
"Mom, do you think it is going to rain today?"
"I don't know Jacob. What do you think?"
"I think only God knows...."

Well said son.............

From Last Night......................

Debby- was so sweet....she brought me this adorable little mug with some of her NEW favorite tea! Thanks Deb- I can not wait to have a cup! Actually Deb was a busy little bee last night.... This is what she made:
She is the librarian at a Middle School. She came up with the idea of having the kids come into the library and read Twilight every day at lunch - until the premiere of the movie! What a FUN idea!!! She made these for her "Twilight" lunch bunch! Over 30 of them!!! I gave her some of my Twilight TTIC projects as prizes for the kids! I just think it is awesome that she is doing this!

Okay now these are not going to make much sense to most of you. Every Feb. a group of my friends and I go to the beach Thursday-Sunday and SCRAPBOOK the ENTIRE time! Well this year we thought it would fun to have a theme. I bet you can not guess what that theme would be- can you? Any-hoo.....ladies if you are reading this.....I GOT THE TEETH!
So Debby was a double sweetie last night! She slipped this adorable layout in my bag last night! Isn't it just the cutest Layout Of The Week? Not sure who designed this one- to give them a shout out, but it is adorable- and I can not wait to slap some camping or tball pics on this baby!
*********EDIT*******Thanks Rami! The talented Brandi made the above kit!

Marky Mark..............

Okay I was scrappin with my girls Debby L., Denise, and Debi G. last night. Debby and I were talking about Mark Wahlberg's the Happening movie. So then I said- "remember Marky Mark and the funky bunch?" Well then we were cracking up about his underwear days, and the Dirk movie, and then we were like "what was the name of that song?" And Debi G. was like "Can you feel it baby?" (insert her really good manly Marky Mark voice!) We were cracking up. Debby L. and Denise were like "what song are you talking about?" So Debi G. goes to look it up online because for the life of us- we could not think of the name of the song to sing it for them! Debi comes back with the title- and we give them a little run down of how the song went- and they were like "ya....no....don't know what you are talking about." Denise says "good vibrations like the Beach Boys?" No, not exactly........
So this is for Debby L., Denise, and Debi G!
Click here if you are still with me!
Too funny!!!!!!

Why do I blog?

I have never been one to keep a journal. I have never been able to write in a diary for more than a week! I have countless scrapbooks that still need to be journaled. I do this in hopes of becoming a better journalist. I do this to document everyday life. I do this so I don't have to scrapbook EVERY picture! I do this for me, our friends and family, & mostly the kids. One day they will have it all - because I took the time to document all the little things that REALLY do matter. Everyday life....all the little moments you & I can't remember because the memories are long gone.......
