Friday Favorite Five..............

1. Filling up the truck for less than $90.00.
2. Martha Stewart ultra fine glitter. {Walmart} The colors are so original and pretty.
3. My NEW toy. I got this at the Black Friday Sale at Green Tangerines. I have been having fun with this pink machine! I have been binding like a FOOL! I have plans for even more binding......and if you come to my house in the next few weeks- I just may bind you. Consider yourself warned........
4. I had been wanting a larger cutter. Michael's had this one on sale Black Friday for 29.99. Then another 20% off. Yeah you do the math- it retails at $80.00 - so GOOD deal! So far I like it. It cuts through super thick chipboard. I guess I can even get some fancy blades for it.....will have to look into that! I like the handle for transporting it. And it is easy to see the lines and measurements on it as well.
5. I have been sitting on this one for awhile. My friend Lisa had a "Sale" fundraiser for her school. A gal she knows was selling these Sizzix sets for $15.00! Lisa thought of me- cause she knows how I feel about Sizzix! What a steal these were......as some have been discontinued and are very expensive or hard to get a hold of. Thanks Lis- for thinking of me!

This is how I label my fonts........
And these are what the above fonts look like once I put them in my book. If you missed that post- check it out here.

Friday Favorite Five..............

1. Organizing ideas.....I love to organize. When I re-do my linen closet (on the calendar for next week.) I plan to make it look like this. I like how the pillowcases are on the spine of the sheet sets.

2. My rulers. Club Scrap ruler from my friend Denise. It is 3"x14"- great for 12" or longer projects. Tim Holtz ruler. It is strong and sturdy with a metal edge top. Also has tiny holes at bottom for paper piercing or sewing stitch.

3. Theresa Collins travel book. I have BIG plans to make these in every line she has! Covers are already colored & cut into this shape. All pages are punch out or tags! Super cute and easy.

4. My friend Holli. I am SO proud of her. She wrote this letter for a contest she entered. If I would have known then......letters to my former self. It has lead to a few publications for her & interviews. Holli is an amazing person and friend. I am SO grateful to have had her in my life for SO long! She has a fun blog- make sure you stop by and say hi!
5. Club Scrap book binding glue. This is the glue that I used to make the book boxes in my last post. This glue could bind my butt to a chair. Okay- you get the point. It is awesome! $8.95 a bottle- but worth every cent!
I was not going to do my FFF today.....running out of time this week.
However, little me up at 5:30am. So excuse the poor lighting in these pics!

Friday Favorite Five..............

I wanted to post my favorite Christmas decorations for my Friday Favorite Five this week.
The above cards I made last year. I asked the kids to think of words that meant Christmas to them or reminded them of Christmas. And that is what I got!

Santa face.............
Huge Fowler stocking.......it is as tall as me. From my friend Colleen.
Santa countdown. The kids have fun with this one- moving the blocks around. From neighborhood Secret Santa last year.
Our advent calendar that I promised I would get a pic. of. From Sam's Club a few years ago. I LOVE this thing. The little doors open for the tiny ornaments. The kids will always remember this one. I try to give them the ornaments that reflect what they like most. I put Christmas letters, etc. in the box. You are suppose to put all your cards in there. I like to display them all around our fireplace and hanging from the mantel.

Okay- this makes 6 but it is my MOST favorite thing.
Christmas cards. They are a big deal. A HUGE deal. I love them. Costco picture cards, handmade, store bought, whatever! I love them.

What are your favorite Christmas decorations?

Why do I blog?

I have never been one to keep a journal. I have never been able to write in a diary for more than a week! I have countless scrapbooks that still need to be journaled. I do this in hopes of becoming a better journalist. I do this to document everyday life. I do this so I don't have to scrapbook EVERY picture! I do this for me, our friends and family, & mostly the kids. One day they will have it all - because I took the time to document all the little things that REALLY do matter. Everyday life....all the little moments you & I can't remember because the memories are long gone.......
